5 Benefits of CEREC Same Day Crowns Dentists Holland, MI

At Macatawa Smiles, we use CEREC® to create your tooth crown in one appointment. In the past, it would take a few weeks for your dental crown to be made in an off-site lab. Today, our dentist uses CEREC to make a digital impression of your teeth and create a crown that looks and feels natural.

Here are the main reasons why patients ask for CEREC same-day crowns.

1. Digital Dental Impressions

In the past, dentists used pink dental putty to take impressions of your teeth.

The only problem was that pressing a tray of putty against the roof of the patient’s mouth can trigger their gag reflex. Fortunately, our dentist uses a slim hand-held device to take pictures of your teeth and gums.

From these digital impressions, Dr. Habecker is able to design your dental crown right in front of your eyes.

2. High Degree of Precision

Not only are digital dental impressions less invasive than trays filled with goop, but they’re more accurate.

The digital scanner will take a precise digital impression so we can create a same-day crown that fits perfectly over your tooth. These measurements are often more accurate than impression putty because our systems can handle things like slight movements and false impressions which often tamper with the putty process.

3. No Waiting

In the past, patients had to wait for weeks for an off-site lab to create dental crowns. Fortunately, Dr. Habecker is always looking for ways to improve your experience as a patient, which is why he started using CEREC to streamline the dental crown procedure.

A CEREC crown can be made in one appointment so you can leave our office smiling with confidence.

After Dr. Habecker takes an impression of your teeth, he can design your dental crown right in front of your eyes using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) software.

Once your dentist is satisfied with the look and fit of your CEREC crown, he’ll send it to the milling machine in our office.

The dental milling machine will sculpt your new tooth crown from a block of ceramic or other natural tooth-colored materials.

4. No Temporary Crown

Since we’re able to create same-day crowns right in our office, you’ll never have to deal with the hassle of a temporary crown ever again.

Since a temporary crown must eventually be removed, your dentist wouldn’t have been able to use a strong adhesive. As a result, people have often experienced their temporary crown(s) falling out or not fitting perfectly when you bit together.

Our dentist understands that temporary crowns are a hassle for patients, which is why he uses CEREC. Since your crown is created and placed in one appointment, you can avoid the discomfort of a temporary crown.

5. Looks and Feels More Natural

A CEREC crown is durable enough to last for years to come. This means you can smile with confidence knowing that your tooth restoration looks and feels natural.

It has always been our goal to help patients feel comfortable with their smiles, which is why we provide same-day dental crowns. And there is no compromise in crown quality. A CEREC same-day crown looks just as natural as those crowns created in labs.

Once Dr. Habecker retrieves your crown from the milling machine, he’ll check the color, shade, and fit before bonding it to your tooth. Since digital dental impressions are highly precise, we often make little to no alterations.

COVID-19 UPDATE FROM DR. HABECKER AND HIS TEAM

Dear Patient Family,

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for all of us. Many of you have been forced to wait for dental care and we appreciate your understanding while we kept our office closed to follow orders from the Governor's Office.

We are happy to say that we are opening our office for all patient treatment on June 1st, 2020. Our hours of operation will go back to normal, Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm. We want you to know that there will be some changes at your next appointment. Please be patient with us as our protocols will inevitably change as new guidelines are released.

  • We ask that you use our parking lot as the waiting room.
  • Please wear a mask when you come into the office and leave it on until entering the treatment room. Homemade is acceptable.
  • Only the person receiving treatment should come in the building, all others will be asked to wait in the car if at all possible. The exception will be for our minor patients who may have one parent accompany them.
  • We will be asking you some questions when you arrive at the office and we will also be taking your temperature.
  • We will not be able to offer magazines, drinks, or toys at this time as they cannot be disinfected to our standards. Eventually this will change and we will be happy to offer our amenities once again.

These changes have been made to adhere to the latest CDC guidelines and for the benefit of our patients and our staff. We want you to know that our office has always taken the safety of our patients very seriously and that we will continue to follow the highest levels of sterilization and disinfection to keep you protected. If you would like more information on what measures we have taken we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

We cannot say how excited we are to see all of our patients again and to provide for their dental needs. We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces soon!
