What are CEREC Same-Day Crowns?

What are CEREC Same Day Crowns? Dentist Holland, MIDr. Habecker uses CEREC to design, make, and place your tooth crown in one appointment. In the past, dentists had to rely on outside labs to create dental crowns for their patients.

Not only did this take weeks, but patients had to wear uncomfortable temporary crowns while they waited. Today, our dentist uses CEREC so you can avoid the hassle of temporary crowns and enjoy your new smile that much sooner.

Here’s what you need to know about the benefits of CEREC same-day crowns and why we recommend them to patients.

How Do CEREC Crowns Work?

CEREC technology allows us to create a crown right here in our office. After your dentist takes impressions of your teeth, he’ll start designing your dental crown right in front of your eyes using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) software. Once your dentist is satisfied with the look and fit of your CEREC crown, he’ll send it to the milling machine in our office.

The milling machine will sculpt your new tooth crown from a block of ceramic or other tooth-colored materials. Since we’re able to create same-day crowns right in our office, you’ll never have to deal with the hassle of a temporary crown ever again.

Done in One Appointment

In the past, patients had to wait for weeks for an off-site lab to create dental crowns. Fortunately, our dentist is always looking for ways to improve your experience as a patient, which is why they started using CEREC to streamline the dental crown procedure. A CEREC crown can be made in one appointment so you can leave our office smiling with confidence.

Digital Impressions

Many people can’t tolerate pink impression putty because it triggers their gag reflex. Fortunately, our dentist uses a slim hand-held device to take pictures of your teeth and gums. Not only are digital dental impressions less invasive than trays filled with goop, but they’re more accurate. The scanner takes precise digital impressions so we can create a same-day crown that fits perfectly over your tooth.

No Temporary Crown

Since a temporary crown must eventually be removed, your dentist wouldn’t have been able to use a strong adhesive. As a result, you may have experienced a temporary crown falling out or not fitting perfectly when you bit together. Our dentist understands that temporary crowns are a hassle for patients, which is why they use CEREC. Since your crown is created and placed in one appointment, you can avoid the discomfort of a temporary crown.

Durable and Natural-Looking

A CEREC crown is durable enough to last for years to come. This means that you can smile with confidence knowing that your tooth restoration looks and feels natural. It has always been our goal to help patients feel comfortable with their smiles, which is why we provide same-day dental crowns.

A CEREC same-day crown looks just as natural as those crowns created in labs. Once your dentist retrieves your crown from the milling machine, he’ll check the color, shade, and fit before bonding it to your tooth.

COVID-19 UPDATE FROM DR. HABECKER AND HIS TEAM

Dear Patient Family,

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for all of us. Many of you have been forced to wait for dental care and we appreciate your understanding while we kept our office closed to follow orders from the Governor's Office.

We are happy to say that we are opening our office for all patient treatment on June 1st, 2020. Our hours of operation will go back to normal, Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm. We want you to know that there will be some changes at your next appointment. Please be patient with us as our protocols will inevitably change as new guidelines are released.

  • We ask that you use our parking lot as the waiting room.
  • Please wear a mask when you come into the office and leave it on until entering the treatment room. Homemade is acceptable.
  • Only the person receiving treatment should come in the building, all others will be asked to wait in the car if at all possible. The exception will be for our minor patients who may have one parent accompany them.
  • We will be asking you some questions when you arrive at the office and we will also be taking your temperature.
  • We will not be able to offer magazines, drinks, or toys at this time as they cannot be disinfected to our standards. Eventually this will change and we will be happy to offer our amenities once again.

These changes have been made to adhere to the latest CDC guidelines and for the benefit of our patients and our staff. We want you to know that our office has always taken the safety of our patients very seriously and that we will continue to follow the highest levels of sterilization and disinfection to keep you protected. If you would like more information on what measures we have taken we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

We cannot say how excited we are to see all of our patients again and to provide for their dental needs. We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces soon!
