Holland MI Invisalign Dentists

If you want to straighten your teeth without the look or feel of traditional braces, Invisalign® aligners may be the perfect solution. This popular orthodontic treatment uses clear, removable aligners to gently move teeth into proper alignment. Below, our Invisalign dentists in Holland, MI, answer some of the most common questions patients have about Invisalign aligners and what to expect during treatment.

What Are Invisalign Aligners?

Invisalign aligners are custom-made, clear trays designed to gradually straighten your teeth. Each set of aligners is worn for about one to two weeks before moving to the next set in the series. Over time, these small adjustments guide your teeth into healthier, more aligned positions.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign can treat many orthodontic issues, including crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. It’s a great option for teens and adults who want a discreet treatment. However, success depends on wearing aligners 20–22 hours per day, so commitment is important. To learn if you’re a candidate for Invisalign, schedule a consultation with Macatawa Smiles.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Take?

Treatment time varies based on individual needs, but most Invisalign cases are completed in 12 to 18 months. Some patients may see results sooner, while more complex cases may take longer. Following your dentist’s instructions helps keep treatment on schedule.

Do Invisalign Aligners Hurt?

Orthodontic aligners are generally comfortable, though mild pressure is normal when starting a new set. This sensation usually fades within a day or two and is a sign that the aligners are working to move your teeth.

Can I Eat and Drink With Invisalign?

One of the biggest benefits of Invisalign treatment is that the aligners are removable. You can remove them before eating or drinking anything besides water. This allows you to enjoy all your favorite foods without restrictions and helps prevent staining or damage to the aligners.

How Do I Clean My Aligners?

Aligners should be cleaned daily using lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser or aligner-cleaning solution. Avoid hot water, which can warp the plastic. Keeping your aligners clean helps prevent odors and maintains their clearness.

Will Invisalign Affect My Speech?

Some patients notice a slight lisp when they first begin wearing Invisalign clear aligners. This typically resolves quickly as your mouth adjusts. Practicing speaking out loud can help shorten this adjustment period.

How Often Are Invisalign Checkups?

Invisalign checkups are usually scheduled every six to eight weeks. However, it’s important to remember that each patient is different. These appointments allow our dentists to monitor progress, provide new aligners, and make any necessary adjustments.

Why Choose Invisalign?

Invisalign offers a comfortable, discreet, and effective way to straighten teeth without brackets or wires. The ability to remove aligners makes daily life easier while still delivering reliable results. Many patients appreciate that Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, giving them confidence during orthodontic treatment.

COVID-19 UPDATE FROM DR. HABECKER AND HIS TEAM

Dear Patient Family,

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for all of us. Many of you have been forced to wait for dental care and we appreciate your understanding while we kept our office closed to follow orders from the Governor's Office.

We are happy to say that we are opening our office for all patient treatment on June 1st, 2020. Our hours of operation will go back to normal, Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm. We want you to know that there will be some changes at your next appointment. Please be patient with us as our protocols will inevitably change as new guidelines are released.

  • We ask that you use our parking lot as the waiting room.
  • Please wear a mask when you come into the office and leave it on until entering the treatment room. Homemade is acceptable.
  • Only the person receiving treatment should come in the building, all others will be asked to wait in the car if at all possible. The exception will be for our minor patients who may have one parent accompany them.
  • We will be asking you some questions when you arrive at the office and we will also be taking your temperature.
  • We will not be able to offer magazines, drinks, or toys at this time as they cannot be disinfected to our standards. Eventually this will change and we will be happy to offer our amenities once again.

These changes have been made to adhere to the latest CDC guidelines and for the benefit of our patients and our staff. We want you to know that our office has always taken the safety of our patients very seriously and that we will continue to follow the highest levels of sterilization and disinfection to keep you protected. If you would like more information on what measures we have taken we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

We cannot say how excited we are to see all of our patients again and to provide for their dental needs. We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces soon!
